Free Things to Do in Bendigo: Heritage Streets, Parks and Culture

Bendigo has an excellent collection of free activities anchored by its remarkable goldfields heritage streetscapes. Pall Mall and Charing Cross, the city's main heritage corridor, is free to walk and includes the Shamrock Hotel, the former Post Office and the Law Courts, all significant Victorian-era buildings. Rosalind Park in the city centre is free and includes a fernery, a band rotunda and walking paths through mature trees. The Bendigo Art Gallery permanent collection is free. The Alexandra Fountain at Charing Cross is a central landmark and meeting point. The walking tracks of the Bendigo Creek corridor and the Lake Weeroona foreshore in Kennington provide free green space close to the city. The Bendigo Pottery at Epsom (free to browse the heritage kilns from the outside) is a short drive from the CBD.
