Bendigo's next round of tech meetups begins July 15 with sessions aimed at workers updating skills, job seekers building networks and professionals tracking productivity tools.

The timing aligns with wider shifts where companies push AI into everyday use and new hardware targets office tasks rather than consumer recording. Local employers report they now screen candidates on familiarity with household AI features and camera-free interfaces, making these events a direct route to stay current without travel to Melbourne.

Organisers have booked the Bendigo Tech Collective space on Mitchell Street for the first three sessions and added a follow-up at the La Trobe University Bendigo campus library on Edwards Road. Both sites sit within easy walking distance of the Pall Mall tram stop, cutting commute time for shift workers and recent graduates.

Registration and costs

Last quarter's equivalent events drew 142 attendees according to the Central Victorian Tech Alliance records, with entry priced at $22 for non-members and $15 for students. July dates run from 6pm to 8:30pm on Tuesdays, and spots close 48 hours prior through the alliance website.

Job seekers should arrive with printed copies of recent project work and target the 7pm speed-networking slot that pairs attendees with hiring managers from three local firms.
