Three Bendigo retailers have published public roadmaps that list exact AI features for inventory tracking, staff scheduling and customer queries set to launch between September 2026 and March 2027.

The announcements arrive as operating costs for small businesses in central Victoria rose 11 percent in the past year, pushing owners to test tools that cut manual work. National trends toward household AI use have prompted local firms to examine similar systems for daily operations rather than consumer gadgets.

The Bendigo Chamber of Commerce on View Street hosted the first public review session last week, while a separate group at the Regional Innovation Park near Ironbark has scheduled weekly testing rounds for the same tools. Both locations sit within a five-minute drive of the central business district and already run shared cloud servers for participating companies.

Planned product features

One roadmap from a Pall Mall clothing store outlines an AI module that scans stock levels every four hours and flags reorders before shelves empty. A second document from a Mitchell Street accounting office describes an add-on that reads client emails and books appointments without staff intervention. Both features carry a listed starting price of AUD 320 per month per location when they reach general release.

A June 2026 survey by the Victorian Small Business Commission found that 27 percent of regional firms already run at least one AI pilot, with another 19 percent planning to begin before the end of calendar 2026. Bendigo numbers matched the state average in that report.
