Bendigo Arts Venues Host Packed July Schedule, Tickets Selling Now
Exhibitions and live events open across central locations with ticket sales already underway.
How we reported this
Bendigo Art Gallery launches its winter exhibition series on 15 July with a focus on regional painters and sculptors.
Why the timing matters
July marks the midpoint of the financial year for many arts organisations in Victoria, when funding reports are due and new programming budgets kick in. Local groups have aligned openings with school holidays to capture family audiences who stay in town rather than travel to Melbourne.
Venues and programs in play
The Capital Theatre on View Street will host three evenings of chamber music starting 18 July, while the Ulumbarra Theatre runs a short film series every Thursday through August. Both sites sit within walking distance of Hargreaves Mall, letting visitors combine an exhibition visit with dinner at nearby cafes on Pall Mall.
Attendance at Bendigo Art Gallery reached 48,000 visitors in the 2025 financial year, according to the latest annual report released last month. Adult entry remains $12, with concessions at $8 and free admission for children under 16.
Bookings for the July events opened online on 1 July through the respective venue websites, with walk-up tickets available at the box offices from 10am each day. Early purchase secures seats at the Capital and timed entry slots at the gallery.
