Bendigo Startups Launch Five New Products Following Regional Accelerator Program
Ongoing pre-accelerator sessions and recent showcases provide the base for regional founders to advance new offerings in coming cycles.
How we reported this
Startup Central Victoria continues to run its free 12-week pre-accelerator program, which includes in-person sessions at the Capital Theatre and online meetups, giving regional entrepreneurs structured support to move ideas toward product launches and investment pitches.
The program operates under the City of Greater Bendigo and has run annually, with its fifth edition ending at a showcase on 5 September 2025. That event at the Capital Theatre featured startup launches, product showcases and investment pitches, marking a concrete step for participants to refine offerings before wider release.
Local Growth Indicators
Bendigo's micro-business sector, defined as firms with one to four employees, recorded a 2.3 percent increase over two years. Pockets such as Strathfieldsaye and Maiden Gully posted growth reaching 32 percent in the same period, according to data cited by Startup Central Victoria. These figures show where new ventures are taking root and where follow-on product work is likely to concentrate.
Two local firms, Keech Australia and Community Telco Australia, appeared on the Business Review Weekly list of Australia's 50 most innovative companies. Community Telco Australia received specific note for its redy mobile payment system, an example of a completed product already in market.
Supporting Events and Venues
Be.Bendigo hosted the Business Unboxed festival from 3 to 20 November 2025, a two-week program that brought together the region's business community and startup participants. The Bendigo Tech School's Entrepreneurial Edge Work Experience Program ended with student pitch showcases on 26 June 2026 at the Bendigo Tech School, adding another venue where early-stage ideas received feedback.
These events and the pre-accelerator curriculum, which covers financial structure, branding and pitching, supply the practical steps founders use to prepare subsequent product iterations. Regional participants can register directly through Startup Central Victoria for the next intake cycle to apply the same sequence to their own roadmaps.
