The Bendigo Neighbourhood Hub is developing new Digital Literacy workshops for 2026 on cloud storage, social networking and media files, with classes scheduled to start in March provided enrollment reaches sufficient levels.
These planned offerings extend the Hub's existing free courses that already include a Google Workspace session on 23 July at 10am and beginner classes in MS Word, Google Docs and AI that began in February. Classes remain capped at 10 participants, supply free laptops and workbooks, and offer individualized support for people with disabilities or limited prior experience.
Bendigo Bank works with the Good Things Foundation to run free digital skills training and 30-minute Banking Safely Online sessions at more than 50 branches and community sites, open to both customers and non-customers. The same network supports the funded Click and Learn program at the Hub and the Karen Cultural Social Support Foundation, which pairs English-language development with basic computer tuition for participants from non-English speaking backgrounds.
Additional free tools available to Bendigo residents include the offline-capable Your Online Journey app, created with the Indigenous Education Centre of Bendigo Kangan Institute for Indigenous communities, and lesson ideas from the Digital Technologies Hub for educators delivering the digital technologies curriculum.
Hub records show classes are limited to 10 people per session with laptops provided at no cost, while Bendigo Bank sessions focus on scam prevention and online security. These details establish the delivery model that the 2026 workshops will follow if enrollment targets are met.
Residents can check the Hub's courses page at https://www.bnh.net.au/page/courses-and-activities/ and the Bendigo Bank digital hub at https://www.bendigobank.com.au/support/digital-hub/ for enrollment updates and session availability.
