Bendigo College Sports Results: BSSC and South East Teams Advance After Recent Wins

Bendigo Senior Secondary College girls and boys badminton teams qualified for the Loddon Mallee Region finals after winning the Sandhurst Division competition.

These results follow directly from recent division events and place the teams among the region’s top performers heading into the next stage of competition.

Badminton and Cross-Country Qualifications

BSSC badminton squads secured their regional spots by claiming first place in the Sandhurst Division. The boys cross-country team also advanced after Will Noden won the boys 17-20yr event at the same division meet, with four teammates finishing inside the top eight.

The cross-country outcome gives the BSSC boys a direct path to the Loddon Mallee Region finals on the strength of those individual and team placings.

Netball Title and Basketball Victory

BSSC has now won the SSV State Final netball title in each of the past two years. At the same state finals the college girls basketball team defeated Greensborough 28-19.

Those outcomes reflect consistent performance across winter and summer codes at the highest level of school sport in Victoria.

Lawn Bowls State Finals

Bendigo South East College students Bailey Bradley, Alix Taylor and Landon Randell finished third overall at the SSV Junior Lawn Bowls State Finals. Bradley received an invitation to Under 18 State Squad tryouts on the back of the result.

The third-place finish and squad invitation mark the strongest recent showing by the college in the sport.

Track and Field Records and Titles

BSSC track and field athletes recorded a new high jump record by Shelby Gahan and collected multiple Sandhurst Division titles. Event winners from the division meet will compete at the Loddon Mallee Region athletics finals on October 6 in Bendigo.

The October 6 date is fixed in the school sport calendar and provides the next competitive opportunity for those qualifiers.
