Bendigo United FC Grabs National Headlines with Youth Talent Surge

Bendigo United FC’s under-21 side reached the national youth final after a 3-1 win over Melbourne City reserves on July 10 at Bendigo Stadium.

The result follows two weeks of strong performances that have drawn interest from A-League scouts and placed the club in daily national sports round-ups. The timing coincides with heightened local interest in the World Cup, where several academy graduates have cited the tournament as motivation for extra training sessions.

Training roots in central Bendigo

Players prepare on the synthetic pitches beside Lake Weeroona and use the weights room at the Bendigo Sports and Fitness Centre on Hargreaves Street. The club’s junior program, run in partnership with the Bendigo Football Association, now fields 14 teams across age groups, up from nine last season.

Membership fees for the 2026 season sit at $185 for juniors, a figure unchanged since 2024 yet supported by a 28 percent rise in registrations recorded on June 30. The club reports 312 active youth players, with 47 of them trialling at state or national level this year.

Next steps for fans and families

Tickets for the national youth final on July 19 go on sale tomorrow at the club office on View Street and online through the Bendigo United website, priced from $12 for adults and $6 for children. Supporters can also attend open training sessions at Rosalind Park on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5.30pm.

Those sessions remain free and open to the public, giving families a direct look at the players who have put Bendigo United in the national conversation this week.
