Bendigo airport terminal opens four times larger as city finishes 2024/2025 infrastructure works

Repairs and safety upgrades around established sites

Kennington Reservoir received dam wall repairs plus habitat improvements that benefit fishing and wildlife, turning the site into a stronger spot for exercise and time outdoors. Wadd Street Bridge gained investment to keep the historic structure functional for years ahead, paired with a fresh pedestrian crossing over the creek for residents and students. Road reconstruction on Herod Street in Eagle Hawk aims to deliver smoother conditions for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians once finished. Repairs to the Bendigo Creek walls tie into the low-line project under construction, creating an off-road shared pathway between Golden Square and Lake Veruna.

The city also opened a new play space at Nianga Kindergarten and advanced work at the municipal bars site, converting a previously restricted section of the Rosland Park precinct into an urban lake area suited to walking and picnics.

New town square and kindergarten expand local options

A town square in Stratfield now serves as a meeting point for events, markets and outdoor trade. In partnership with the Victorian government, a new kindergarten in Morong will provide space for 99 local children and is scheduled to open in early 2026, bringing play-based education closer to families. These additions sit alongside the airport changes as part of the same annual program.
